Conquer Cancer in Every Color T-shirts Available

Quite a few of the people at the June 24 Food Fight Against Cancer event liked the Hilldale Deli team t-shirts, and Hilldale has agreed to make them available – AND donate a portion of each sale to the Leonard C. Ferguson Cancer Center at FHN Memorial Hospital!

Orders are being taken through Monday, July 31 at Hilldale Deli (30 W. Stephenson Street in Freeport). You can also print out the order form and bring it in with payment.

Shirts are available in Small through XXXX-Large (unisex sizing) in white only for $18 plus sales tax. Hilldale Deli will donate $5 per shirt to the Cancer Center.

All shirt orders must be prepaid.

Rx Renewal Available on MyFHN

The MyFHN Patient Portal has become even more convenient!

Patients can now – in addition to calling their pharmacy – request to have their prescription renewed using the MyFHN Patient Portal. It’s easy, just click on the Medications tab, then click on the medication you need refilled, and request renewal. This will notify your provider and they will message you back once the refill has been sent in.

If you don’t already have the MyFHN Patient Portal, enroll online using one of two processes (depending on whether or not you have an email address on file with us and know your medical record number). If you need assistance, please ask the staff, call the MyFHN Coordinator at 1-815-599-6907, or email [email protected].

Register today and let your fingertips keep you on top of everything related to your healthcare! Already signed up for MyFHN? Download the app! Instructions available online.

North American Indigenous people celebrate the July – August Sun Dance Ritual in June. For many tribes of the Plains Indians, the Sun Dance was a major communal religious ceremony. Generally held in early summer, the four-day dance ceremony involves sacrifice and supplication to ensure harmony between all living beings.

Some Indigenous Oklahoma tribes perform the July-August Green Corn Ceremony this month as a time of renewal. The ceremony involves participation in sweatlodge ceremonies, dances, offerings, and feasting.

July 14 is Bastille Day in France. It commemorates the event that launched the French revolution. On this date in 1789, the Bastille, which held political prisoners and became a symbol of oppression by the monarchy, was stormed and prisoners freed. In France, the day is called Fete Nationale.

Japan celebrates Umi no hi on July 17. The day honors the importance of the sea and its role in Japanese history.
