Rx Renewal Available on MyFHN |
The MyFHN Patient Portal has become even more convenient!
Patients can now – in addition to calling their pharmacy – request to have their prescription renewed using the MyFHN Patient Portal.
It’s easy, just click on the Medications tab, then click on the medication you need refilled, and request renewal. This will notify your provider and they will message you back once the refill has been sent in.
If you don’t already have the MyFHN Patient Portal, enroll online using one of two processes (depending on whether or not you have an email address on file with us and know your medical record number). If you need assistance, please ask the staff,
call the MyFHN Coordinator at 1-815-599-6907, or email [email protected].
Register today and let your fingertips keep you on top of everything related to your healthcare!

April is Multicultural Communications Month. Multicultural communications may seem difficult at first – differences in languages, backgrounds, customs, and the like all seem like a challenge. By learning more about our different cultures, it becomes easier to interact. This month has been dedicated to further this cause.
The United States celebrates Arab Americans Heritage Month in April. On March 31, 2023, the President of the United States declared April as Arab American Heritage Month to learn more about the history, culture, and achievements of Arab Americans and observe this month with appropriate programs and activities.
Baisakhi, the first day of the solar
year, is celebrated this year on April 13 in Bangladesh and people
of the Sikh and Hindu faiths. It is an agricultural festival
celebrating the harvest, especially in North India. Tamils and Sri
Lankans celebrate their New Year on this day. In Kerala,
South India, the day is called Vishu. Especially important to
the Sikhs, it marks this day in 1699 when the tenth Guru, Guru
Gobind Singh, established the order of Khalsa. The festival is a
mixture of feasting, dancing, and worship.
For the people of India, Mauritius, and Nepal,
April 13 is Ugadi, which marks the beginning of the new Hindu
lunar calendar. Celebrated mainly in the southern states of India,
people awake before the break of day, bathe and decorate the
entrance of their homes with mango leaves. They eat bitter Neem
leaves with sweet jaggery to signify the bitter and sweet of life.
Songkran, celebrated April 13 in
Cambodia, India, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and Thailand, is the New Year
for Buddhists. For Thais, it is a three-day religious festival in
which homes are routinely cleaned, and water is sprinkled on monks
paying visits and on statues of Buddha.
Sri Lanka celebrates the Adam’s Peak
Pilgrimage on April 15. It is an ancient pilgrimage site to the
sacred mountain, Sri Pada. According to legend, when Buddha visited
Sri Lanka, he planted one foot on the north of the royal city, and
the other foot on Sumana-Kuta (Adam’s Peak), about a hundred miles
away.
April 17 is Ram Navami for people of the
Hindu faith. It celebrates the birthday of Rama, the seventh
incarnation of God Vishnu. Hindus read the Ramayan, a Hindu epic,
which tells the story of Rama, during the previous eight days.
